You are you
not me
or he
or she
you are
you
perfectly
you!
–
Eyes
ears
mouth
cheeks
and
chin
elbows
fingers
knees
and
toes.
–
Different
than me
and he
and she
you are
you
perfectly
you!
–
Your thinks are your thoughts
your breath is your rhythm
Your heart is your drum
all uniquely you.
–
Different
than me
and he
and she
you are
you
perfectly you!
–
Your journey
takes twists
and turns
and ups and downs
Round and round
Passing me
and he
and she
this makes
you
perfectly
You
–
You are absolutely
not me
but I love
you
and you should
love you
too!
Just discovered that site! Well done, Shannon. Really loved it!
Thanks!! I probably should get back into writing. I’ve been slacking.
This brought tears to my eyes! What a beautiful poem. I loved the song-like quality it had. Absolutely enchanting!
We are all unique but yet a combination of a he and a she. What a great message to remember!
You know what Elsie when I wrote that I wasn’t even thinking about how he and she could be interpreted as my parents. I was meaning he and she as in the people around us. That’s what I love about poetry, it can always be interpreted in different ways.
I love this line.. “your breath is your own rhythm” and the last line, “you should love you too.” It’s so vital for our health and sad that it gets forgotton sometimes.
Thanks Vanessa! I think we all need that reminder sometimes!
You ARE you! And what a beautiful YOU you are! 🙂 Love the poem and your message!
Thanks Ennif, You are too!
Such a good reminder to be yourself! I love the repetition within each stanza. Your poem has a sing-song rhythm as I read it and it made me smile 🙂
Thanks for reading! I am glad it brought a smile to your face!
What a great poem! Very inspirational and I love the graphics on your page.
Thanks for stopping by and reading! Those fishies make me smile too!
