Winter Wonderland?

When I moved to Asia, I said my goodbyes to winter and welcomed the year-round slightly cool to extremely hot weather. When we decided to return to Canada, I was eager to welcome winter back into my life. I have fond memories of winter; the crunch of snow under my boot, the snowflakes caught on my eyelashes, even the tingling of my fingertips as I placed the last stone on my X rated snowman. Most of my colleagues dreaded the first snowfall, while I secretly wished for it to arrive early. My wish came true a little too early; on September 30th the first snow fell. It is now March second and the snow is still falling. I continue to  enjoy the crunch of the snow under my boots, the snowflakes caught on my eyelashes and the tingling of my fingertips as I place the last stone on my now G rated snowman. However, in 24 short hours we have added another foot of snow to our already mountain of snow. When I welcomed winter back, I don’t think I realized how long it planned on staying.

  1. As he old saying goes, be careful what you wish for! I think growing up in Canada makes it easier for you to adjust to and actually enjoy the winter. I would be miserable in that much snow! It sure is pretty, but I would be so freezing!!
